Our service project for June will be with Open Door Ossining. Open Door clinicians deliver 450 babies a year for patients who often struggle with inadequate housing, food insecurity, low levels of health literacy, and cultural/language barriers. Add to this the emotional and financial pressure of a new baby and the precarious balance of daily life can be at risk.
In partnership with Open Door, Indivisible Pleasantville will help provide these vulnerable new moms with basic essentials for their new babies. Together we can help ensure that new mothers give their babies a healthy and safe start in life.
We will collect newborn necessities—you can drop off at Justine's house or order through our Amazon Wish List.
Additionally, you can volunteer at Open Door to assemble or distribute the baby boxes! This would also be a great opportunity for a teen that is looking for community service hours.
